| What the New Age is and why you're a part of it. |

The “New Age” is the third renaissance of mankind. Does that make sense? Lucky we, living in the beginning stages, of the prophetical period between Pisces and Aquarius. Because there might well be a happy ending in store for us all. Before we check what this New age is though: let's have a list of what Is Not New age: Crystals, incence, robes Meditation, yoga, tantra G-d-Damned Hippies Reiki, Tarot, Shamanism Paganism, boffing trees getting nekkid at festivals Love, Peace, Unity, Respect Free Tofu for all, Henna Tattoos Poor hygiene, dreadlocks The Moonies / Random Religious constructs rehashing old mythologies and symbols to their own purposes. A la all monotheistic religions and most polytheistic or nontheistic ones. The New Age is none of these things. Yet we shouldn't blame people for being confused. They just don't read the internet enough. The New age is you, me, not orange but everyone past and present, the vibrancy of human accomplishment for the destruction of itself – or for the realisation of itself spreading life to other worlds and spreading love peace and starbucks around the universe? For sure, no-one really knows - walking round this Earth, but people are pessimistic about humanity... unless they are new age of course - then they have a quiet kind of "we shall pull through kind of serenity" to them. This is the belief - that we are living and experiencing, and informing as we go, the third renaissance of Mankind. We don't even have to be smart, or powerful, or especially 'bovvered' either. And that's the main feature of the 'New Age' as the third renaissance: Serenity and surety - even if you die horribly - it's all good. This is the difference religions of a new age flavour have to those whom would ignorantly dispise and mislabel what they do not understand or wish to countenance. Napoleon Bonapart stated, "Religion is what keeps the poor from killing the rich", New age religion realises we don't have to kill the rich, and even if we did, they'd be someone to replace them instantly. The paradigm of the third renaissance evidences from a respect for the fact that consciousness has to change before the reality can. This 'Law of Attraction' theory has seen a surge in personal development and non-religiously compartmentalised thought about life that has brought enormous benefits to peoples spiritual lives. The Law of Attraction is of course simple and twee.... somewhat sickening to the practical whom upon hearing this great "Law" would simply quoth: "Well, DUH". We can see the evidence of this Third Renaissance coming to fruition and effect. Obviously as the third epoch upon the shift from Pisces to Aquarius - it's a little bit special. We can make everyone rich in relative terms - and throw away the old thoughts of absolute wealth - that one's fortune is only to be valuable in the absense of others having a chance in life. The things that matter in this life beyond sustenence - the mental and spiritual poverties - will be conquered by love, and the vaguaries of Physical poverty also - eviscerated by sharing and suport structures that ensure no-one is left behind or made guilty by the sick stench of charity either institutional or governmental. People are realising around the world - that work - is a four letter word. More importantly they are coming to terms with the fact that most work is just meaningles humdrum and unconstructive to the benefits of the society they live within. If you are reading the papers you will notice the current fallacious economic system flailing, crashing and whimpering at it's own inability to save itself. Confidence is non-existent. Commentators look to people holding confidence in order to stop the ediface crumbling yet the fact is the confidence is completely gone and has been since the early 90's (you dot com babies aside of course - that was a refresher course) People do not believe in the economy anymore. Getting a Job, or career, a great wage - doesn't cut it anymore - survival alone is not good enough. Thank you G-d. Everyday people are realising the lies behind the smiling eyes that tell such distruths. Those whom sell salvation have only damnation to offer, and those whom sell damnation sell the most wicked lie of all. Suffering might be absolute and inevitable, but it does not have to be fruitless. We want lives where we are in control, where we may obviously have to make choices of frugality and rationalisation - but no more will people tolerate the mentality of hunger amongst bounty, homelessness amongst land already ours, and hopelessness amongst all so much potential. We remain wageslaves in effect but not intention. Whereas our parents may have been content to corporately rest on laurels of winning the sixteen plus grammar game and earning an extra hundred a week over their working class collegues - nowdays more people than ever are prepared to go without and try harder than ever to earn whatever hunger in their spirit demands they can manifest into this world for the benefit of all. Wikipedia currently states that the New Age: "is characterized by an eclectic and individual approach to spirituality with a general rejection of mainstream dogma and religion. Alternative terms are also used to describe the movement: Self Spirituality, New Spirituality, Mind-Body-Spirit, Cultural Creative, Everyone Is Equal, New Paradigm, and All Is One." These trends and philosophies are as old as time. It is however the enactment and emancipation of their tenants ino everyday life that prends the notion the New Age is something meaningless or vapidly vague. It's vague if you want it to be - but it's happening, and it's happening now, and you are a part of it. We all are. Mainstream religion, group think, that great lack of imagination is keeping us tied to the fears we hold. Monotheism is affront to the unity of creation, and people make and follow their own G-ds, so how can polytheism be untrue on this Earth? Irreverent towards religion, but happy at the sight of peaceful religiousness, are the people of the New age. Free to critisice, free to think, free to feel. Spirituality is the cumulative effect of life - what causes your efforts were directed to. If people worry more of the perception of things then the actuality of them, what good can come from the need to be percieved as 'good' to be saved? It condemns only the largest of hypocrits. When all are necessarily damned from their birth- how can they ever redeem themselves through submittal and the study of old books? Enlightenment cannot come from having both eyes upon the past. Enrapturement cannot come from believeing oneself beyond redemption unless blessed bby a father figure. Life is the blessing. Progress towards a more loving and co-operative world is the redemption. Heaven waits.
