Article on the obsfustication and complexity on perceptions of homelessness NO! It's not just about not having a home! It's about, erm, FAMILY BREAKDOWN! Of Course it's not just about having nowhere to sleep! It's about, erm, DWUGS & ALKEHOL! And it certainly isn't about not being able to afford accommodation. It's about, erm, MENTAL HEALTH! Ah... We could say this is all a bit chicken and eggish, but since that certain conundrum was solved by research scientists [Egg btw](God Bless Em) we should dispense with analogies and just say one word alone. Bollocks. Yes Bollocks. It's all Bollocks. Complete nut sack, ball bags, hair testicular rotund planetoid bullshit. Bollocks. But let's get personal for a moment. Hello. My names Jon. And I've been homeless several times for several short periods. Why? Well. Firstly it was about a marriage breakdown, a loss of a job, and a complete cock-up by Waltham Forest Council on my housing benefit application. First came the lost job. Then the 'lost' application, then the 'lost your right to pay rent to landlord', finishing with 'lost wife' and then 'lost the will to live'. Nice. Note the absence of family breakdown, drugs and alcohol and mental health. Even though, all three were present at that time in some form which I won't go into... Next time? Well I was kicked out of my parents house. Why? Cause I was (and remain) a reefer mad pothead? Nope. Cause I drank as much as possible? Nope. Cause I was severely depressed? Nope. Cause we had a family breakdown? Nope. It's cause I was an arsehole, and also, because the folks were fed up of having a long term jobless 24 year old cluttering up their sofa. Nice. Fair Enough. No Worries. But what's the point of all this needless background personal info? Cutting through all the bollocks. (ouch!) Homelessness doesn't have root causes of Family Breakdown, Drugs/Alcohol, or Mental Health. Homelessness has one root cause and one cause only. Listen up. Housing is kept in intentionally short supply by a nexus of elite financial interest and government complicity. Proof? You desire proof? This ain't wikipedia pal. The proof is all around you. A Million free square miles of office space, going dirt cheap, all over the nation. Over a million empty homes, just sitting there whispering into the dark: "come on, squat me, it's ok, I like it, squat mee, squat meeeeee!". Of course converting office space to housing is impossible, and God forbid that empty homes be used to house people. After all - property rights are the foundation of a free and proper civil society democratic whatnot init? Yeah, and we live in just such a utopia, don't we? Once again: Bollocks. You see, it's not even about myself anymore, the fact I'll never be able to afford to rent, let alone buy a home. It's not about class war, or social justice, or "sticking it to the man"... although housing is the thin end of the wedge which proves what a blood sucking, satanistic and pathetic society we live in. Not to mention how apathetic, easily distracted and humble nation of slaves we have atrophied into. It's about love. "oh no, he's gonna start with all that new-age, hippytastic shit" I bet you're groaning to yourself... Well, suck it up, sister - it's about love of one's fellow bum, prole, peon etc. If that's hippytastic, then put me in a tie-dyed shirt and send me to a love-in baby, cause I'm super serious... Here's some real life examples with names omitted: You're seventeen. You've had your "family breakdown" and statutory period of homelessness and helplessness listening to endless shit advice from social workers, drugs workers, local councils, good old Shelter etc etc.. ...you suffer for a couple of months, and then you have a break-through. Some unnameable social housing association, strongly in bed with local government and drugs services hooks you up with a flat in your old neighborhood... and you live happy ever after right? Bollocks. Cause you know a friend. And your friend is homeless. You know what it's like and you let him stay. Everything is cool - but pretty soon the drama starts. The neighbours begin to complain about shouting, excessive drum 'n' bass, and kids visiting day and night. You're given a couple of warnings, and then told, one more violation and you're out. Fired. Kaput. Banjoed. F.U.C.. You get the idea. And the idea is: Bollocks. You're seventeen for Christs sake! Living on your own! And you're supposed to live alone entirely? No friends - no flatmates, only the TV, playstation, and constant fear of being bitched about at the core of your thoughts forevermore? Worried about having to turf your friend out in order to retain your own place to stay? Some might say this situation is all due to family breakdown, mental health, etc etc. but I say, Once again, Bollocks! There's enough space in this green and unpleasant land for all. There should be areas for the young, areas for the old, for the rich, for the poor, for the loud, for the quiet, for the smokers, dopers, shooters, and drunks... Homelessness is about the lack of housing. Nothing more, and nothing less, any other argument is patronising crap designed to create a dialetic producing inaction and continuing exploitation on the part of the elites of the world. Housing is the wedge that creates the opportunity for social engineering on the part of elites and governments. This country needs land reform as much as Zimbabwe or any other banana republic. The situation is critical, ugly, dire and getting worse. Benefits and welfare, do more to perpetuate the situation and produce an underclass for the underclass industry to exploit, than they ever have improved the situation. Ask any homeless, single, sober male out there. Ask them what help government and charity have been. You won't get a cuddly reply. And Why? Because without a nice large mental health problem, or a rabid drugs and alcohol issue, or even a couple of bastard children sired to different mothers... Your ass ain't getting socially housed jack. No way. No how. Get a job? Yes. Get a job. Keep it. Manage to stay cheerful, despite your circumstances and conundrum that, the public sector don't want to help you cause you don't suck enough, and the private sector won't help you cause you suck too much. And don't forget how tolerant, patient and understanding the average workplace is. Yeah. Get a job. Solution? Bollocks. Unless that job is with a social enterprise third sector, homeless exploiting piece of shit corporation where the chief exec earns a good £70,000 a year, but of course I won't mention no names of course. You know what bright sparks I'm talking about... So we look to solutions... and we find none. Why? Because there are none in a societal framework of division, derision, and delusion about the true causes of homelessness. And that's just bollocks. There is one solution of course. But they will never let it work. No council will accept it in it's wards. No corporation will help it attain it's funding objectives. And no-one will get involved and help it grow and develop it because, well, working for an organisation without an existing hierarchy and government stamp of approval is bollocks, isn't it? Where's the feel good factor? Where's the wristband? EveryonesHome.org.uk - Like everything else in my life - love, hope, ambition, charity - it's just an idea... and to be honest... it's probably bollocks. After all - homeless people deserve everything that happen to them cause they're the mentally ill, drugged up, perma-drunk, family breakdown causing authors of their own misfortune aren't they? Ah social Darwinism. sexy old Ayn Rand. Socialism for the rich, capitalism for the poor. Same as it ever was... Same as it ever was... Same as it ever was... Bollocks.
but what if there were a way to gain the acceptance by government, but no matter the simple quality, at least housing is as important as any human right, it is a human need. if Government can't secure our needs, than it shouldn't be supporting the wants of barons of the financial sector. It should be interested in the status of the poorest in it's remit because the poorest for the basis of quality for the society itself, and this has been recognised, since the dawn of time. However, what is not so well recognised is that, druggies, the recently dispossessed, mental health borderline nutcases, and supposed 'normal' people mired in the exploitation housing has become: from the meek the answer must come.
