How American politics seems to be driven by fear and paranoia.
First of all, intrinsic to sanity, is the management of PARANOIA.

Paranoia is always going to be around. The English don't trust the French, and Vice Versa, Veni Vidi Vici...Etcetera. The Americans,excell in ParaNoiA though, like everything else. Being in one of the more violent and humid parts of the world, they are easily excitable creatures. Prone to bombing entire villages and rendering people to Eastern European Torture Superstores, the age of American Paranoia is well underway.

Let's check some highlights:

Us, Russia to talk about Missile Crisis  Reuters - What a load of crap. Any country with thirty nukes can pwn the world. tens of thousands of nuclear devices lying around is asking for trouble. Expecting Iran to disarm any goodies up it's sleeve whilst the richest military lies poised at it's doorstep, is fricking stupid - to put it mildly. so to Iran we say 'just do a Sadamn Hussein' on the American Paranoics, and everything will turn up roses. You'll get free quality bacon flowing from the skies. Comedy.

Meanwhile CIA Destroys Key Terror Evidence TimesOnline - What are they hiding? The fact they kill their own citizens and those from other countries? We know. Why all the hubbub, bub? It's standard operating pocedure init?

Oprah Campaigns for Obama in Iowa BBC News - Nicely done Oprah. How about letting your adoring drones know that the entire government is a scam ripping them a new asshole every fiscal year? Because you rely on the same structure of evil to survive yourself? Say it ain't so. Srsly.
