Ten tips to search engine optimize your copy

1. Define the Object: If you're talking about SEO optimised writing take the extra words to say so each time. Your primary search term needs to be repeated and restated in many ways. so don't refer to the object of the article at hand as "it", or "this" or other imageless identifier. It's bad Engrish anyways.

2. A little boldface or italics adds teeth to the bite a search engine takes tasting all the content on your site, although not if you bold or italisize irrelievent words.

3. Well formatted text takes precedence over badly formatted text for similar content. The isn't going to change.

4. A clear logical link and URl structure adds great benefits - if you can logically organise your writing - you should do so, even infomation sorted by date of entry will rank higher than your optimised writing otherwise would.

5. Search engines operate partly upon normal semantic synonyms in writing, so for an article like search engine optimised writing: crafting best web-copy, copywriting online, and would all be worthwhile additional referencing words to slip in somewhere.

6. Even reforming a whole point like point 1 and 5 above will add value - if the repetition adds value to the clarity of what you're saying - the hits will be that many more.

7. Clear descriptive titles, slightly different for URL and page title will evoke more interest and therefore more hits, diggs, bookmarking, and re-reading than would otherwise be. What's the point anyone bookmarking something that doesn't put itself across well and quickly in the bookmarks listing?

8. Unless the topic lends itself to waffle or intricate long comprehensive or massive detail - getting the maximum benefit out of each sentence should ensure the better dissemination, distribution, reading and appreciation of any information you put on or through the internet.

9. Try and use both simple and more technical words to increase the 'net' of possible terms your article will touch on in the search engines database - for an article on writing, including words like copywriting, online content editorial,

10. Don't take it seriously - a sense of humour and humility sells more than serious levels of bullshit - and there's always someone better - just enjoy it or get it over with
