When speech begins to mumble,
When trails of thought get lost,
When simple jobs start dragging on
And fridges over-frost,
When weary turns to hardened hearts,
When love becomes routine,
When waves of passion turn to calm
It's time to end the scene.
And baby, it was wonderful,
Our kisses were like fire,
Our lives were full of fireworks,
Our love electric wire.
But fires burn out easily
And wonderful turns dull,
Electric wires lose their charge
And needs are over full.
Lakes are emptied, oceans dried,
Lands devide and part,
Powerful volcanoes blow
The lava from my heart.
Autumn leaves begin to fall
And I cannot pretent
That all the love I have for you
Is drawing to an end.
